Terms of Service

The deal, in plain words.

Yokwi is a voice and a face for the AI agent you already run. These terms say what we do, what we don't, and what each of us is responsible for. Last updated 18 September 2026.

1. What Yokwi actually is

Yokwi is an app on your phone plus a relay that carries your words to your own AI agent and carries its answer back. We do not host that agent, we did not write it, and we do not choose what it says. You bring the agent. We carry the voice.

That distinction runs through everything below. If your agent does something you did not expect, that is between you and your agent.

2. Your account and your username

You claim one username, and it becomes the address your agent connects to. Keep the pairing token private, the way you would a password. Anyone holding it can reach your channel.

A username is a handle, not property. We can release names that have gone unused, and we can take back a name that impersonates someone or is being used to abuse the service. We will not sell you a name or promise you keep one forever.

3. Using it fairly

Do not use Yokwi to break the law, to pretend to be someone you are not, to move illegal material through the relay, or to hammer the service in a way that spoils it for everyone else. Do not try to reach another person's channel. Automated abuse, scraping the relay, and attempts to overload it all fall under the same line.

4. Your voice and your words

Speech is turned into text on your phone. The finished turn travels through our relay to your agent, and the answer comes back the same way. The relay passes traffic through; it is not an archive. Conversations you keep are stored on your own device, not on our servers.

The privacy policy walks through this in detail and is the document to read if you want the specifics.

5. Your agent is your responsibility

You decide which agent to connect, what it is allowed to do, and what tools it holds. If you give it the ability to send messages, move files, or spend money, it can do those things when you ask it to, and sometimes when it misunderstands you.

We are not responsible for what your agent says, what it does, what it approves, or what it costs you. That includes bills from whatever model provider you point it at. Give it the narrowest permissions that still do the job.

6. Plus, trials and billing

Yokwi Plus is a subscription sold through the App Store. Apple takes the payment, handles renewals, and issues refunds under their rules, not ours. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends, and you cancel through your Apple account rather than through us. Prices can change with notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

7. Availability

We do not promise uptime. The relay can go down, change, or be discontinued. We will not break things carelessly, and we will tell you when something significant changes, but this is a service and not a guarantee.

8. Who owns what

The Yokwi name, the app, the artwork and the little creature are ours. Everything you say and everything your agent produces stays yours; we claim no rights over your conversations and we do not train anything on them.

9. No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you

Yokwi is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or costs you incur through your own agent. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty Australian dollars.

10. Ending it

You can stop using Yokwi whenever you like; delete the app and the channel goes quiet. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken, and we will say why unless doing so would make the abuse worse.

When access ends, your username returns to the pool and your channel stops relaying. Conversations stored on your device stay on your device until you delete them.

11. You need to be 18

Yokwi is for adults. You must be at least 18 to claim a username and use the service. Setting Yokwi up means running software on your own machine and handing it your own credentials, which is not something we are willing to put in front of a minor.

12. Governing law

To be completed. This clause names the jurisdiction whose law governs these terms and where disputes are heard. It should match the legal entity that sells the app on the App Store.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so in the app or on this page rather than hoping you notice. Continuing to use Yokwi after a change means you accept it.
